The Secondary PHR Account feature helps Practices provide Charm Patient Portal access to multiple caregivers of a patient.
You can use this feature in scenarios where multiple members are involved in patient care and each needs their own PHR account to access the patient's medical records and communicate with your practice.
Using a secondary PHR account the caregiver can:
Follow the steps below to enable and use the Secondary PHR Accounts for your Practice.
The Practice Admin can enable the Secondary PHR account feature for the practice by following the steps below.
Once enabled, practice members with the necessary role privilege can create a secondary PHR account for caregivers by following the steps below.
Note - You can add a maximum of two caregivers for each patient.
Note: The secondary PHR account can be created only after the Primary PHR account is created for the patient.
Caregivers can log in to their secondary PHR account by following the steps below.
After successful verification, caregivers can access the secondary PHR account.
Using a secondary PHR account, caregivers can view upcoming appointments, questionnaires filled, prescriptions, labs, billing, and other medical records shared by the practice.
Although there is only Read access for the sections in the secondary PHR account, caregivers can still:
Secondary account members can message the Practice Members by following the steps below.
The Providers can view messages from secondary PHR accounts in the Messages section within CharmHealth EHR.
The 'Related Patient' field displays the patient's Primary Account holder's name for quick reference. Providers can reply to the incoming messages from secondary PHR accounts as it is done for the primary account.
Providers can also compose and send messages to a secondary PHR account directly by following the steps below.
Note: Primary account holders cannot view the messages sent and received by the secondary PHR account holders and vice versa.
Caregivers can join the TeleHealth appointments from their secondary PHR account directly. The meeting link and the password (if configured) are provided within the 'Appointments' section.
Secondary account members can upload and share the documents with the Practice by following the steps below.
Practice Members get notified about the uploaded documents in the Messages section. They can click on it to view the documents sent by the caregivers from the secondary PHR accounts.
Members can also view the uploaded documents in the respective 'Patient Dashboard > Documents' section.
