What are the requisites for using CharmHealth EHR?
CharmHealth EHR is an online application. There is no hardware or software installation involved. All you need is a web browser and an internet connection to use the application.

Is my data safe?

Charm uses 256-bit encryption and follows stringent software security measures, as per HIPAA regulations, to keep your data safe. We regularly back up and replicate your data across secure locations for any emergency. Click on this link for further information.

Does CharmHealth EHR support HL7-based transactions?
CharmHealth EHR supports various HL7-based transactions. For example, you can receive HL7-based lab results and send electronic lab orders in Charm.

What is meaningful use, and how does it apply to Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs?
In 2009, the US Congress passed an act for economic stimulus package (ARRA), under which physicians and Providers can qualify for incentives if they demonstrate the 'Meaningful Use' of EHR.

CharmHealth EHR is Certified for MU 2015 Edition Cures Update with 30 CQM Measures across multiple specialties by the Drummond Group, which means Providers using CharmHealth EHR in their Practice can apply for the MU incentive program.

Which drug databases does CharmHealth EHR use?
CharmHealth EHR uses the LexiComp database for drug reference and interaction processes.
The process captures Drug-Drug, Drug-Allergy, and Drug-Food interactions.

Are CPT codes bundled in CharmHealth EHR?
No, CPT codes are not bundled with Charm. You need to configure them under the 'Settings > Billing > Procedure Codes' section.

How do I get started with connecting to labs?
We do support connecting to your labs through the HL7 interface. Please send us a mail to lab-requests@medicalmine.com with the lab of your choice, so that we can help you.

How do I add my first patient?
To add a new Patient:

  1. Go to the 'Patients' section
  2. Click on the 'More Options' icon '+Patient' button
  3. Provide the details, like 'First Name', 'Last Name', 'Date of Birth' etc.
  4. If you want to provide access to the Patient 'More Options' icon, select the 'Send PHR invitation to Patient' option and provide the Patient's email address in the 'Email' field.
  5. Click on the 'Add' button.

Is it possible to add custom fields to Patient Demographics?
Yes, it is possible.

  1. Navigate to 'Settings > Patient > Demographics' section.
  2. Under the Additional Information section, you can add to five Custom Fields
  3. Click on the 'Save' button.

The 'Add Patient' form lists the Custom fields defined under the Additional Information section.

How can I delete a patient record from my EHR?
You cannot delete a Patient record once you create it. If needed, you can de-activate the Patient. To de-activate a Patient account:

  1. Go to the said Patient's Dashboard
  2. Click on the 'More Options' icon (3 dots)
  3. Choose the 'Deactivate Patient' option
  4. Select 'Okay' in the pop-up dialogue box

I have patients’ past visit details on paper. Can I import them into Charm?
You can scan and upload paper charts either under the Patient's 'Dashboard > Encounters' section or under the Patient's 'Dashboard > Documents' section. You can also subscribe to our scanner add-on to import your Patient records seamlessly.

How to store old patient lab records in Charm?

  1. Go to the 'Labs > Lab Orders' section
  2. Click on the 'More Options' icon against the Patient you want.
  3. Choose the 'Import Results' option
  4. Click on the 'Result PDF: Upload' button to upload the old record from your local drive.
  5. Select the required 'Test Name' checkbox and original record date.
  6. Click on the 'Import' button and then 'Save'.

Alternatively, you can

  1. Go to the Patient Dashboard > Labs section.
  2. Click on the '+Lab Results' button
  3. Choose the original record date and import the results.
  4. Click on the 'Add' button

How can I review the recent access and activities done in my EHR?
You can view all the Practice Members' activities from the 'Settings > Security > Audit Trails' section. Only the Practice admin can view the access and activities performed by all Practice Members.

You can also view Audit Trails specific to a Patient from the Patient Dashboard > Audit Trails section.

How to merge patient records?
Merging Patient records is not possible. Instead, the Practice Admin or Office Manager can mark the duplicate Patient record as 'Inactive' by navigating to the Patient's 'Dashboard'. Before deactivating the Patient's duplicate record, ensure to move any data available in the duplicated record (if any) to the actual record.
